Winter 2025 "Musical Sprint"

Our hearts are very heavy as we contemplate the devastation and ongoing challenges facing our entire extended Los Angeles community. As SMPLA Co-Directors and Teachers, we send our warmest and strongest thoughts out to you and your family. Everyone has been impacted in various ways, on multiple levels.

While we mourn together the challenges experienced by various parties within our musical community, we also look to Dr. Suzuki himself and to the Suzuki philosophy for examples of Resilience, Community, and Strength.

To that end, we are letting you know that we have wonderful ongoing musical opportunities planned for SMPLA, SMAC-LA, and the extended Suzuki community in the Los Angeles area.

First, SMPLA will be having a Winter 2025 "Musical Sprint" where we will meet on three Monday nights in February to learn and perform music from "Wicked the Movie" and "Sonic The Hedgehog 3" as well as reviewing Suzuki repertoire, and concluding with a Public Performance. Yes! Music from the movies!

Click here to see the flyer for details and registration. ALL children regardless of age or ability are invited to participate, on violin, viola, cello, bass, and guitar! Yes, it will be an orchestral ensemble experience - children truly "making music together"!
