All teachers, both experienced and new to Suzuki Piano Basics are welcome to attend the workshop. All participants will be able to observe the same teaching. Dr. Kataoka always requested that all participants will be doing the same research together. The Matsumoto teachers will offer lessons for teachers and students, question and answer sessions, and a critique of the Friendship Concert.

(Teachers must be a member of the Piano Basics Foundation to attend)

Teachers bringing students are required to have a lesson. Please consider bringing students at any level, as we would like to have all books of the Suzuki repertoire from Book 1 and beyond represented. This year we will not require video auditions from students wishing to perform in the recital or having a lesson. It is the teacher’s responsibility to make sure that their student is prepared for a lesson and/or the Friendship concert.

All participating teachers may enroll two students in the Friendship Concert. After the deadline, there could possibly be room for more students. If there is room, teachers will be notified and asked to register more students.

The Friendship Concert dress rehearsal will be on Saturday, August 4. Time to be determined. Concert will be on Sunday, August 5 at 5:00 pm.

FRIENDSHIP CONCERT CRITIQUE will be Monday Morning, August 6. All teachers with students participating in the Friendship Concert are required to attend the critique.

There will be three students from Matsumoto coming. This is a wonderful opportunity to hear the students from Japan and to observe the Japanese teachers teaching them. We would like a full hall for the students who have worked so hard! So please tell your friends and family to attend the concert free of charge.

Visiting students from out of the area under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult. There are several hotel and AirBNB options in the area. The closest hotel is The Westin Hotel at 4800 Riverside Blvd, Sacramento. There are other options with the 95831 zip code.
