Carrie Salisbury is the creator of StringsPop, a unique online music camp and summer institute enrichment class for teens and tweens, with training for innovative string teachers. She is an LA-based performer and private violin/viola teacher. Her students perform regularly as Crescendo Strings, an all-ages multi-level upper string group and as First Inversion, a premiere teen ensemble known for creating and performing their own arrangements. Carrie holds a B.M. in viola performance and currently studies performance, orchestral playing and pedagogy with Dr. Mick Wetzel. A Suzuki trained teacher for more than 20 years, she now leads the Suzuki Music Association of California - Los Angeles Branch. She is the parent to three young Suzuki string students with her husband, pianist-composer Benjamin Salisbury.

Based in Los Angeles, California, Michael McLean is an internationally noted composer, violinist, and teacher. Over the past 30+ years he has taught at the Music Institute of Chicago, Texas Christian University and for 20 years at the Colburn School. He studied violin and composition at Northwestern and film-scoring at USC. Michael has 100+ string pieces published and has 3 concertos for Violin and Viola recorded with the London Symphony (LSO). He has taught violin and composition for 100’s of Suzuki festivals, workshops and symposiums across the world and has lectured on Bach and various topics for the SAA and the Juilliard School. He is a passionate advocate for educating students and teachers about the depth and layers of music within the score and how to project that into a performance or a music classroom. Michael loves to hike, knit socks and hats and create fugues from pop tunes.
